In the foreword of the German Rowing Association’s water directory, the passage in Donauwörth is described as follows:
„An exploration on land to assess the passage under the bridges and the overall stretch at Donauwörth is advisable due to fluctuating water levels and current conditions.
Planning for flood protection within the urban area has been underway since 2019. In addition, a safe navigation channel from the Danube bridge to the so-called Old Danube Harbor is to be created, along with docking, departing, and launching facilities for pleasure craft on the left bank in this area.“
