Boat trips

The former Free Imperial Town of Donauwörth is located on the confluence of the rivers Wörnitz and Danube and offers a variety of possibilities for leisure activities and relaxation.
The town of Donauwörth has developed from a small fishing community on a small island in the river Wörnitz – today's Ried Island. Ever since, the population has lived with the water. Donauwörth once had the biggest Danube harbour in Swabia, but today there is no more shipping on the Danube around Donauwörth. Boat tourists who love nature, who value and protect water areas are very welcome to Donauwörth. Boat trips on the Danube, the Wörnitz, the Kessel and the Schmutter provide adventures for beginners, as well as for advanced boatsmen!

Zillenfahrten - A trip on historic flat boats
An inside tip are the boat trips in historical barges – the so-called "Zillen". Donauwörth's fishermen offer tours for groups on request. Single persons have the opportunity to take a trip during the opening of the tourist season and the May Market on the 13th and 14th of May 2017 from 11 am to 5 pm. Be our guest for this special event!
