Boat trips
The former Free Imperial Town of Donauwörth is located on the confluence of the rivers Wörnitz and Danube and offers varied possibilities for leisure activities and relaxation. The town of Donauwörth has developed from a small fishing community on a small island in the river Wörnitz – today`s Ried Island. The population has ever since lived with the water. Donauwörth formally had the biggest Danube harbour in Swabia, but today there is no more shipping on the Danube aroung Donauwörth. Boat hikers who love nature, who value and protect water areas are very welcome in Donauwörth. Boat trips on the Danube, the Wörnitz, the Kessel and the Schmutter provide adventures for beginners as well as advanced boatsmen!
A hot tip are the boat trips in historical flat boats – the Zillen. Donauwörth`s fishermen offer tours for groups on request. Single persons have the opportunity to take a trip during the opening of the tourist season and the May Market on the 13th and 14th of May 2006 from 11 am to 5 pm. Be our guest for this special event!
